Philippe Arnaud had been a hospital pharmacist for over 30 years before retiring in November 2020.
Graduating from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Paris in 1978 and acquiring a thesis of doctorate in pharmaceutical sciences, Philippe passed the agrégation examination in 1995 and joined as a Professor the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Rouen and the Hospital Pharmacy of Rouen.
In 2004, he became University Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Paris and as Head of the Pharmacy Department at Bichat and Bretonneau Hospital, and joined an INSERM-CNRS research unit. He is the author or co-author of more than 100 publications and has participated in more than 250 national and international communications. His research work centred around pharmaceutical forms and improving their efficiency.
For more than 20 years, Philippe was an expert at the National Agency for the Sanitary Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) and he was also an active member of a trade union of pharmacists in university hospitals (SNPHPU), of which he was President for 9 years.
Throughout his career, Philippe has participated in various ministerial committees on the advancement of the profession and in particular the evolution of biosimilars and organised an annual congress bringing together more than 800 healthcare professionals (CSH).
Today, Philippe is still a member of the French National Academy of Pharmacy, the French terminology and language expert college, and President of the Pharmapack award jury.
