Dr Torsten Hoppe-Tichy is Chief Pharmacist at Heidelberg University Hospital and a lecturer at the School of Pharmacy at Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg.
Dr Hoppe-Tichy studied pharmacy at School of Pharmacy at TU Braunschweig, Germany, and also obtained a PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) in pharmaceutical chemistry. Specialising in clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical analytics, his research focuses on pharmacokinetics of antimicrobial agents, pharmacoeconomics, drug and patient safety. Before he took over the position as Chief Pharmacist at Heidelberg University Hospital he served as a Deputy Chief Pharmacist at University Hospital of Ulm.
Dr Hoppe-Tichy was a member of the Board of Directors of the German Hospital Pharmacy Association (ADKA) for more then 15 years including 6 years of being President of this association. He is now an honorary member of ADKA and is still a member of the scientific committee of the European Association of Hospital Pharmacist (EAHP).
